Colorpicker Pen
Here is a great tool for designers who still use pen and paper to kick off a creative session.
This pen lets you scan any color from the real world and automatically detect the color. Using RGB ink cartridges in the pen, you can immediately draw with the selected color.
Hat tip to The Next Web for this.
Basecamp Project List
If you have a large number of Basecamp projects the API link between ProofHQ and Basecamp can be very slow. This means that when you try to select a Basecamp project on the New Proof page you may experience a delay or even an error.
If you have more than 50 Basecamp projects you will now see a button on the New Proof page saying “Update list of Basecamp projects”. This button will manually update your list, rather than automatically updating each time you open the New Proof page and slowing you down.
If you have fewer than 50 Basecamp projects you will not see the new button and your list of Basecamp projects will continue to be updated automatically.

Batch Uploads and Batch Emails
ProofHQ gives you the ability to upload multiple files at the same time. You can do this in the web application, or drag and drop from your desktop using the desktop Uploader. It’s a really useful feature, but before today each file would have a separate email notification when it was uploaded. So if you uploaded twenty files, twenty emails would be sent out.
From today batch uploads will have just one email notification. That email will list all of files and a separate link to each one. This will reduce the amount of email traffic and declutter your inbox even more.
Planned Downtime
ProofHQ will be down for approximately two hours at 16:00 GMT on Sunday 13 September for a database upgrade.
There will also be a brief update at 07:00 on Friday 11 September, but the service will not be offline. You may experience slight delays in server responses.
Thank you in advance for bearing with us whilst we undertake this work.
