ProofHQ Release 1 2009

Happy New Year to all!

Well we kicked off 2009 with a brand new release (thanks to the whole team for working during the holidays!).  This release was once again inspired by feedback from clients.  We had many email exchanges and phones calls to get that feedback.  Thanks especially to Avin K, Avinash K, Mary W-B, Ian S, Federico H, Lee l, Greg P, Jonathan M, Scott K, Nathan S, Kev N, Alec D to name a few.  If I have not mentioned you, then I apologise and will send a virtual beer your way.

This time round I am going to summarise the release and then write detailed posts on each one.

.

Basecamp Integration Improvements

  • Email spam is no more.  Only one email gets sent when a proof is created and linked to a BC project.
  • Private proofs.  Proofs can now be made private in a Basecamp project, so external team members (clients) can’t see them.
  • Proofs comments in Basecamp.  Proof comments and replies are now copied into the Basecamp message.
  • Proof thumbnails.  These are now marked with a small Basecamp logo to show you which proofs are in Basecamp.
  • Speed.  We speeded up the connection with Basecamp’s API to speed up creating new proofs.

.

Email Notifications for your Reviewers

  • Email settings for your reviewers.  You can now set the email notification settings for reviewers when you create a proof.  This means that you control which emails your reviewers receive.  See Advanced Settings when you create a proof.

.

Simpler and less cluttered proof page

  • Simple proof view.  Lots of people want to give their clients a simpler proof page.  The “Simple proof view” setting hides all of the menus on the proof page and make everything look less “busy”.

.

When proofs are “Closed” and single Approvals

  • Proofs now stay “Open” when the final decision is made, which means that comments can still be made.  You can change this using the “Close proof after final decision” setting.
  • If you just need one approval from a team of reviewers, you can use the “Only one approval required” setting.  This will changed the proof to Closed when just one reviewer approves the proof.

.

Custom message template for new proofs

  • You can now create a customised messagein your profile.  This will be copied into the Message field whenever a new proof is created.  You can then edit the text before sending.
