ProofHQ Release - March 2009
Our latest release is now on production and starts to introduce the first of some great new features that we have lined up for the next few months.
This release was once again inspired by lots of vital feedback from clients.
This time round I am going to summarise the release and then write detailed posts on each one.
- Filters proof comments by person and page
- Advanced tools for the proof
- Basecamp integration improvements - ok, bug fixes!!
- Faster servers
- More…
.
Filters on comments in the proof page
We have added two filters to the comments list on the proof page. This makes it easier to see which comments relate to which people and/or the page that you are viewing.
As you move from page to page or comment to comment these filters will be retained, so you can choose to “always see comments by Scott on the page I am viewing”.
- You can filter by people, so only see comments from one person.
- You can also filter to only see comments on the page being viewed.
.
Advanced Tools on the Proof
We have created a better label for the Advanced tools on the proof. These are the tools such as File, Versions and Workspaces that you can choose to minimise when you create a proof. The new label makes it clearer where the tools are and what they do.
.
Basecamp message list bug fixed, and Miniproof sizing
There was a problem in Basecamp when lots of proofs were uploaded to the same project. In each case, a Miniproof was added to a message in Basecamp and if there were too many Miniproofs in the messages list the page would slow down or even crash.
We have fixed this problem by putting the Miniproof in the first reply to the message rather than the message itself. This stops multiple Miniproofs appearing together and resolves the issue.
We have also made the default size of the Miniproofs wider so that they fit the Basecamp column width.
.
Updated Account and Profile Pages, Separate Billing Admin
We have released updated Account and Profile pages. The new design makes it easier to navigate around the various configuration options.
We have also created a separate role of Billing Admin. This means that Admins cannot see Billing Info unless given explicit permission
.
New Proof Imaging Servers
We have deployed new proof imaging infrastructure, so processing proofs should now be faster.
.
New Website
We are making changes to our website gradually. Comments and feedback from those keen design eyes would be appreciated.
