It gives us great pleasure to announce that we’ve exclusively partnered with SOFTWARE Too to act as our sole distributor in Japan, furthering our international offering.

SOFTWARE Too is a well known and established distributor of photo, design and prepress software products of brands from throughout the US, Europe and Asia for the Japanese market.

Yay for 37Signals!

Here at ProofHQ we love to make our users happy… for the most part, that involves us keeping our heads down, focussing on regular revisions of the product to make it the very best that you can be.

Up until now, we’ve pretty much flown under the radar, doing what we do rather than shouting about it.We’re all human though and when someone shows us a little love, we can’t help but get a little fuzzy feeling of satisfaction! You can then only imagine our delight when today, we were featured by 37signals as one of their highlighted partners – alongside other great services such as Freshbooks and Beacon.

It gives us great satisfaction that we’re able to offer our users integration with services such as Basecamp but that they recognise what value we can offer their users too.  We’re signing off now to go and puff out our chests in pride, but if you’re interested in finding out how you can integrate 3rd party applications with your ProofHQ account, don’t hesitate to drop us a note.

Updates to ProofHQ and Basecamp integration

I wanted to let you know about some big changes that we have made to the ProofHQ integration with Basecamp.

Designers and clients can now use ProofHQ’s feedback and approval tools from right inside Basecamp. This means that they don’t need to leave Basecamp to use ProofHQ. This keeps workflow simple and saves even more time getting feedback on design work.

We have enabled this by improving the miniproof that embeds ProofHQ inside Basecamp projects. The new miniproof lets users interact fully with ProofHQ from right inside Basecamp. This means that they can add comments, reply to existing comments and make decisions without having to leave Basecamp.

We have also improved single sign on, so after a Basecamp user has signed in to a miniproof for the first time, they will be automatically signed in to miniproofs in the future.

Here is a movie that explains more – screenshots after the jump.

Changes to Basecamp affecting ProofHQ users

We wanted to give you a heads up about a change made to the ProofHQ and Basecamp integration.

Last month, 37signals (the team behind Basecamp) made the switch to a new login system called 37signals ID. Visit the 37signals website to learn more about 37signals ID. What this means for ProofHQ users is that if you use the Basecamp integration, you may need to update your info within ProofHQ. Here’s how you can ensure your account is updated.

  • Go to your Basecamp account and log in.If you haven’t done so, you will be prompted to create a new 37signals ID.
  • If your new 37signals ID and password differ from your original Basecamp ID and password, you will need to change your settings within ProofHQ.
  • To do this, log in to your ProofHQ account.
  • Click on ‘Account Settings’ in the left pane.
  • Go down the page to the Basecamp section.
  • Under Username and Password, enter your new 37signals ID information and click the ‘Save’ button.
  • Logout of ProofHQ and login again for the change to take effect.
  • If you have several users in your ProofHQ account using Basecamp, then each user will have to do this as well.

This should get you back up and running with the ProofHQ and Basecamp integration.

UPDATE:  If this doesn’t work initially, you may need to add your new Basecamp details in your personal settings as well as your account settings.
