Tesco is the third largest retailer in the world. Tesco uses a custom-built application called Tescodesign.com to manage production of product packaging. Tesco recently integrated ProofHQ into Tescodesign.com to give their users better review and approval tools.
Tescodesign.com is used to manage many aspects of Tesco’s product and packaging production, including specifications, workflow and design review and approval. The application includes basic review and approval tools, but these were not powerful enough to give Tesco’s review teams the ability to provide fast, accurate feedback. The volume of packaging artwork being managed by Tescodesign.com was increasing significantly, so Tesco needed to look for another solution to support the review process.
Tesco were looking for a solution that would be used across the packaging production life cycle. These included packaging development, artwork, reproduction and print. It would need to handle multiple versions of proofs, custom workflows and use single sign-on to recognise existing users of Tescodesign.com without the need for additional credentials.
Tesco chose ProofHQ because of its ability to be customised to suit any workflow and its powerful proofing tools. ProofHQ’s API also meant that it was ready to be integrated with other platforms.
The objectives of the project were to increase collaboration, provide reviewers with a richer set of proofing tools, support the increasing volumes of proofing. Another key objective was to provide a seamless user experience by integrating the ProofHQ proof viewer directly into Tescodesign.com.
The custom integration with Tescodesign.com was built by Haefele Software and achieved all these objectives.
